Welcome to Week 11 of Compensation Management, our last week together. We’ve covered many topics throughout this course. Remember in Week 1, we said that the topic of compensation is a mystery to many businesspeople and even many human resource professionals. Over these eleven weeks we have worked to clear away some of that mystery. We’ve carefully considered various compensation strategies companies employ to enable them to implement their strategic goals. We’ve examined best practices companies employ to attract, retain, and motivate their employees. Finally, we considered some of the challenges today’s companies face when it comes to offering employees fair and competitive compensation plans.
The compensation knowledge and skills you’ve gained in this course will help you differentiate yourself from your competition, whether you decide to pursue a general business career or choose to specialize in human resource management.
